Christmas came early - A poem showcase

What my mother gave to me.

A listening ear while walking to school.

Wiping my tears when other kids were cruel.

Immunity from our financial woes.

My request for toys was never a no.

Working endlessly to pay for my ambition.

Tupperware of food to power my revision.

A Nandos for my first night in hospital.

Your hand is there to pick me up when I fall.

Finished yours, but always helping my career.

Supporting my goals with your weekly prayer.

Fendering off loneliness as I travel for work.

My chai and natter buddy is the best perk.

This is just the tip of the iceberg

Of what my mother gave to me…
